TAKE BOTH SU07-01 & 02 for $75($90 for non-members!)
     
SP 07-01 _Metal Cutting [limit-8] _____One – 2 hr. session _______Steve Tresan      

Before you join metal pieces, you have to get them to the size you want. This will be a one day, hands-on workshop to give participants the basic ability to cut steel with saws and the oxy-acetylene torch.

COST: ONE 2 HR. SESSION per section: $30 per section ($35 for non - members)
SECTION A: Saturday, February 10th ; 10AM -12 noon.
SECTION B: Saturday, March 3rd ; 10AM – 12 noon

     
SP 07-02: Welding [limit-8] _Two–2 hr. sessions (Prerequisite - SP07-01) Steve Tresan      

So, now you have these cut pieces of metal that Elmer's and glue sticks just won't stick them together. This two session workshop will demonstrate basic gas welding and grinding.

COST: TWO - 2 HR. SESSION per section: $60 per section ($70 for non-members)
SECTION A: Saturday, Feb. 17 th & Feb. 24th; 10AM – 12 noon
SECTION B: Saturday, March 10 th & March 17th; 10AM – 12 noon.

NEW!! SP 07-03 Soldering & Brazing [limit-8]__ _One – 3 hr. session_(Prerequisite - SP07-01 & 02) ___Steve Tresan
   
Although less durable than welding, Soldering or Brazing metal is together is often more than adequate as you house plumbing might attest. These are a few of the techniques you can learn in this one-day workshop.

COST: ONE - 3 HR. SESSION: $40 ($50 for non-members)

NEW!! SP 07-04 __Arc Welding _[limit-8] _____Two – 2 hr. sessions (Prerequisite - SP07-01 & 02) ____Steve Tresan
   

Now that you know how to weld with the oxy-acetylene torch, you are ready to join the big league! Although it requires more skill, electric Arc welding is a quicker, cleaner method of welding which is used by most experts.

COST:ONE TWO HR. SESSION $80 ($95 non-members)
Saturday, April 7th and Saturday, April 14th ; 10-12 noon.

A chance for you to work at the skills you acquired and actually make something out of metal.

NEW!!_SP 07-06 __Introduction to Screen Printing [limit-10] ______Two – 2 hr. sessions _____Robert O'Connor

   

This course will introduce you to the materials and basic techniques of water based screen printing for use in creating fine art prints and objects.  We will cover paper stencil, block-out and resist techniques as  well as registration and screen reclamation procedures.  No previous printing experience is required.

COST: TWO - TWO HR. SESSIONS per section: $60 ($75 for non-members)
SECTION A: Sat., Feb. 24 th & Sat., March 3 rd - 10AM-12 noon
SECTION B: Thurs., March 15th & Thurs., March 22nd; 6PM-8PM

   
NEW!!_SP 07-07 Advanced Screen Printing [limit-8]_Two–2 hr. sessions (Prerequisite - SP07-06) __Robert O'Connor
   

This course will cover the photographic emulsion method and image preparation including half tone and color separation procedures.  Students are expected to have completed the Introduction to Screen Printing course or have previous screen printing experience.  Some Photoshop knowledge is helpful, but not required .

COST:

    NEW!!SP 07-08 _Lunch Discussions on Contemporary Art [limit-12] __Two – 2 hr. sessions ________Doug Ferrari  
   

Good people - hanging out - having a bite to eat - discussing art - what could be better? This is for both the novice and the seasoned connoisseur. The only prerequisite is an open mind and the desire to better understand art today. SICA will supply the goodies, but feel free to bring your favorites.

COST: TWO - TWO HR. DISCUSSIONS: $15 ($20 for non-members)

    SP 07-09A _Printmaking Without a Press [limit-12] ________One – 2 hr. session _______________Jill Kerwick  
   

Monotypes, and transferred printing ink technique will be demonstrated by printmaker Jill Kerwick. Participants will then make a print using “easy kut” (new linoleum type) process. So, bring along a sketch or photo - we'll transfer the image, cut the block (it cuts like butta!), roll it up with ink and . . . we print!

COST: $30 ($40 non-members)

    SP 07-10A __Workshop in New Acrylic Media [limit-14] ______One – 2 hr. session_______________ Amy Faris  
   

A technical presentation on acrylic paint, designed to help artists develop a clear understanding of how to get the most from their materials. Using products from the Liquitex Acrylic line, artist and Liquitex Education Advisor Amy Faris will provide information on a vast array of topics. Attendees will receive a free sample pack of paint and literature.

COST: ONE - TWO HR. SESSION: $20 ($25 non-members).
