Ben Goldman is an award-winning artist, activist, author and entrepreneur. His paintings have exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the world, including such prestigious locations as the Allied Museum in Berlin, Germany and the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Turkey. Dr. Goldman has served as an advisor to the Clinton Administration and directed numerous organizations. He co-founded Public Data Access, Inc. in 1986, which pioneered public-interest information systems, and founded United Visual Arts LLC in 2006, which manufactures and distributes consumer art products under the defEYE™ brand. His many books include The Truth About Where You Live (Random House 1992) and the forthcoming On Every Wall: Reproduction and the Future of Art . Dr. Goldman has a PhD and MPhil (public administration) from New York University and an AB (history) from Vassar College. |

Entry Rules Entry fee, including insurance and handling fees is $25.00 and is non-refundable. Make checks payable to “Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts” or "SICA". Works hung may not exceed 100” in height by 100” in width (excluding the frame) and must be “show ready,” – totally ready for hanging. Three-dimensional works must not exceed 7' in height, nor cover more than 50 square feet of floor area, or weigh more than 300 lbs. Accepted artworks cannot be substituted and are committed for the duration of the exhibit. No artwork shall be returned after installation until the final exhibition date, and artwork will be returned only to the original location and lender or his/her authorized agent on the date(s) stated herein. SICA reserves the right to rejected any accepted works that we feel differ significantly from the submitted image. SICA also reserves the right to reproduced exhibited artwork for all media and publications. |

The exhibition is open to all visual artists in all mediums. Each artist may enter NO MORE than two ORIGINAL pieces for consideration, that have been completed in the past 5 years and that has never been displayed at SICA. One digital image or a 35mm slide can be submitted for each work of art (for sculpture or installation 2 views of each submission are allowed). DVD's may be submitted for video art or performance art submissions. |
Juried screening will be made from slides OR digital images. Only accepted artists will be notified. Artists not selected will receive their slides by the end of November if a SASE is provided. No work selected for inclusion in this exhibition and shipped to us will be accepted unless all return costs, necessary documentation and shipping insurance is included by the artist. |

Slides Each 35mm slide must be labeled with NAME OF ARTIST, TITLE, DIMENSIONS, and slide #1 and #2. Please indicate the top of the slide. Include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for return of your slides. All slides must fit a standard slide carousel (2”x2”). All slides of exhibiting artists will be kept for our permanent file. |
Awards / Sales Awards will be presented at the exhibition's Preview Reception: Best in Show, Best in Category (Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Printmaking, etc.) Best Mixed Media / Installation. All works of art will be insured for declared value while on SICA premises. SICA request a 25% donation for any works sold as a direct result of this exhibition. |
